Our guide to a watering can alternative
Watering cans

A regular watering can works well enough. You fill it with water, aim it at a plant and the water pours out, simple. You can get a watering can with a rose for sprinkling house plants. You can get heavy duty watering cans that are very strong. You can even get kids watering cans. Actually, you can get any type of watering can you could imagine.
So why are we trying to get you to swap this tried and tested gardening product?
Well, we are not.
We believe watering cans are indispensible garden tools. But we also think we have come up with a product that can water plants twice as effectively and take a tenth of the time.
Our AQUADRIP automatic plant watering system is easy and simple to set up and use, they recycles old plastic bottles, water plants directly at their roots, it can be left for over 2 weeks and they supports OXFAM!
We don't want you to throw away your watering can, we want you to use your watering can alongside AQUADRIP the most ethical watering device on the planet.
How do you use a watering can alongside a watering device? Surely its one or the other?
Not at all. We recommend that you use our AQUADRIP on your most thirsty plants or just on house plants. Once the AQUADRIP is set up then you leave it for over 2 weeks. In the meantime, this frees you up to water or care for other parts of the garden or home. You can get your watering can out as little or as much as you like.
Vegetable patches and allotments are particularly great places to use AQUADRIP, as the watering spikes give you peace of mind when you are not there to look after the plot. When you return to the plot you can water plants that are particularly thirsty with your trusty watering can.
Similarly, AQUADRIP water spikes are massively effective utilised in house plants when you are at work or out for the day. They can be set to a slow flow rate and gently drip feed plants while you are working. A watering cancannot do that!
Watering cans do not offer a holiday solution! AQUADRIP has this base covered. We would recommend that you water your plants (with a watering can) before you go away. Before you leave, set up the AQUADRIP's around the house and garden and let them take care of your plants while you enjoy a break away. On your return, go around the garden and your house and water the plants with the watering can. It couldn't be easier.

Is the AQUADRIP watering device as effective as a watering can? They have been developed over 100's of years.
Yes, simply, watering cans (especially with roses attached) are renound in the gardening industry for water wastage through evaporation and spillage. AQUADRIP uses a regular plastic bottle as the water storing area and therefore it is impossible for the water to spill. With regards to evaporation, AQUADRIP cuts this massively as it waters the plants directly at root level. In effect, cutting out the middle man. The water is fed directly to the plants roots meaning the plant is watered more effectively.
You can easily add water soluble plant food to AQUADRIP, as you can with a watering can, except it is much easier to measure out the feed or fertiliser as the bottles can be of a standard size.
Anyway, why not try them yourself? They support Oxfam so its worth a trial...
Watering cans look much better than the AQUADRIP though. How can we use them if they look bad?
We know our humble AQUADRIP is not going to win any prizes for best looking watering device but it is function over form. If the astetics of the AQUADRIP is keeping you away. Then why not use the watering spikes when going on holiday or when at work? You can even hide them amongst flower beds hide them behind plants, paint them or even cover them (people do this with our Jute Sacks).
To Sum Up:
We love a good watering can just as much as the next gardening enthusiast. But we have found a way to water the garden, indoor plants, vegetable patch or allotment more effectively.
Please don't start throwing away watering cans, just use them alongside our AQUADRIP automatic plant watering system, and see the difference for yourself.
